About this deal

Certain chemicals in cleaning products can causes illnesses. Plus, they often smell bad and don’t really provide much extra cleaning power than natural alternatives. We tried two different bicarb mixes for these tests. One with warm water and one with vinegar. With both mixes we sprinkled the bicarbonate of soda over the stain, fully covering it. That’s because, when combined, baking soda and vinegar cause a chemical reaction which creates a gas that could potentially explode. Last summer, Birtwhistle had two different sprays to keep bugs at bay. She made one from nettles (60g boiled in 600ml water) and another using rhubarb leaves (500g of leaves in a litre of water). Vinegar is excellent at breaking down rust. You can even use it to remove rust from gardening tools and things like that. Apply the carpet stain remover to the stain and not your sponge or cloth, especially for old stains.
